Today I tried something that I have always wanted to do. I compiled all of my best highlights in Rocket League, a game in which I have spent almost 1500 hours, and edited together a montage. I have always wanted to get into video editing, but it can be very intimidating because of the sheer amount of things that you can do to your video. I thought this was the perfect opportunity to sit down and finally learn. With me already being a complete newbie at this, I thought: why not make it even tougher? So I gave myself a time limit of 20 minutes to see what I could put together in that short period of time. With this being said, I present to you: the creation of my very first Rocket League highlights montage.
I really enjoyed these 20 minutes throwing together a montage of all the moments that I have been proud of while playing Rocket League. The moment it really became difficult was when I tried to go back and edit the editing footage. The biggest difficulty that I had was adding that timer in the bottom left corner. After spending almost 3 hours trying to figure it out, along with many other troubles, I was finally able to view the final product, and I am very happy with how it turned out. This was a great learning experience for me and I don’t regret the amount of time I put into it. Here is the final product of my 20-minute editing challenge, as well as my very first (but hopefully not last) Rocket League montage.
I hope you enjoyed this post and the videos! I am currently hoping that this can become a series, either with me adding 20 minutes of work to my already-started project, or me starting over but having more time to edit each time. If you have a suggestion or prefer one option over the other, feel free to leave a comment below the post. Thanks for reading and watching!
